This large bronze gold weight, which was formerly part of the London-based artist Romy Rey's collection, depicts a leopard with a small gazelle in its mouth.
The leopard stands with its tail sweeping backwards, and a series of raised spiral circular spots decorate its body. The gold weight, which dates back to the eighteenth/nineteenth-century, has developed a lovely worn surface patina in parts.
