Woman's apron beautifully decorated with metal beads of iron, copper and aluminium threaded onto a stiff animal hide backing. The raw iron ore to make the iron beads of this skirt is locally sourced from the Lake Turkana region. Later the Turkana turned to aluminium to decorate their skirts as they found the metal a lot easier to work with.
