The tubular form of this armband/cuff from Papua New Guinea has been produced by wrapping and bending apiece of bark into a circular form. Strands of thick grass fibre have then been woven through small holes in the bark to fasten the cuff securely into shape.Decorating the smooth outer surface of the cuff are series of alternating linear patterns, from vertical lines to bands of zigzags.
