A single arm support, located on the left-hand side of this four-legged chair, is typically found among chairs of a similar style from this area of Ethiopia. However, the reason behind the inclusion of this feature, which would have left the sitter's right hand free, is unknown. Engraved zig-zag and linear decorations adorn the backrest, and the surface of the chair exhibits a lovely, lusty patina. The chair is strong, comfortable and sturdy to sit on.
