This wonderful Bambara door lock has been carved into a figurative form which exhibits wonderfully abstract qualities, for instance, the elongated shape of the body embellished with three panels of cross-hatched designs. The head of the figure, where a wonderful deep surface patina is particularly prevalent, appears to tilt slightly to one side. The sides of the lock and the facial area exhibit a beautiful worn surface, where the door lock has been handled throughout the years.
Note - The crosshatch of the lock, which is not photographed, is available and comes with the lock.
