Door Lock. Bambara Culture, Mali
This Bambara door lock is surmounted by a carved head, with an unusual prominent V-shaped neck. The body of the lock is decorated with fine cross-hatched striations.
The surface of the lock has developed a wonderfully encrusted, deep and worn patina as a result of extensive use over the years.
