The abstract form of this carved female figure is typical of such sculptures from the Mossi culture in Burkina Faso. The figure is depicted standing in an upright stance, with powerful legs and large prominent breasts. Her head is crowned with a sweeping coiffure, and her face exhibits incised lineal decorations.
