This female figure stands in an upright position, her head adorned with a flat, crescent-shaped coiffure. The figure exhibits wonderfully executed abstract body characteristics, from a sharply pointed chin to the connection between the figure’s breasts and arms – which unusually have been carved in reverse. The placement of the figure’s breasts at the upper arms and shoulders is unusual.
Delicately engraved, simple shapes and lines define the figure’s facial features, and the head is adorned with a crescent-shaped coiffure. A finely beaded girdle, consisting of cowrie shells and old glass beads, has been wrapped around the figure’s hips.
The figure has a beautifully dark, glossy surface.
