A finely carved crocodile surmounts the lid of this Lozi wooden bowl. The bowl consists of two pieces, with the lip fitting tightly to the base. Such bowls were traditionally used to serve food.
The animals depicted on bowls made by the Lozi people were species that could be found inhabiting the shores of the Zambezi River in Zambia.
