The form and characteristics of this headrest are typical of those found in the Oromo region of Ethiopia. The headrest consists of a cone-shaped base, which doubles up as a cup, which tapers up to a central upright column. The curved upper neck support is characterised by two downward lugs on either end, and exhibits a lovely rippled surface from extensive use throughout the years.
This Oromo headrest is in good condition with an oily surface patina.
