This fine double-columned headrest from Somalia consists of two arched supports decorated with fine cross-hatched interlocking patterns. The curved neck rest is adorned with a series of intricate designs which appear to feature abstracted scorpions, which serve as protective symbols.
This is a very fine example of a Boni headrest for the quality and variety of its designs.
Estimated Period: First Half of 20th Century
