This fine mask comes from the Kuba or Lele culture (possibly even from a sub-group) in DRC. A coiffure-shaped attachment made from raffia fibre is located at the top of the mask. Animal hair has been affixed to the lower section of the mask. This mask is unusual due to the addition of two prominent aluminium decorative bands over the eyes and mouth.
