Surmounting the wooden stopper of this medicine container are two carved seated female figures. Depicted sitting in an upright stance, each figure features beaded eyes and each hold their breasts in a gesture of fertility. Their heads are crowned with a carved double-parted coiffure - a hairstyle traditionally worn by Kaguru women - and a strand of small glass beads adorns the waist of one of the figures. Over time, the surface of the medicine container has developed a worn patina.
