Baule prestige blades are renowned for their balanced, harmonious design, expert forging and lavish decoration. This elegantly shaped forged iron blade, sheathed in a sewn animal hide scabbard decorated with coral-coloured spondylus shells, would have reflected the prestige and status of its bearer. Antique brass tacks decorate the blade’s finely carved wooden handle.
