Small stools like these were carried and sat upon by elders of the Pokot tribe. Besides their obvious functional purpose they were prestige items and respected and valued as such. Typically each stool has three slightly curved supporting legs forming larger at the base. The larger stool has a aluminium restoration on its top. The smaller stool as a small traditional restoration, a clip, to the edge of its platform as shown in the photos.
