This fine Zulu meat platter (Ugqoko) from Southern Africa was traditionally used to serve meat (especially goat and cattle meat). The platter takes the form of a rectangular bowl with rounded corners, flanked on each end by handles.
The underside of the meat platter is adorned with a beautiful geometric star-shaped design. In traditional houses, the platter would be hung and displayed on the wall with the decorated underside facing outwards.
