19th/19th Century Akan weight of a adze showing a flat slightly curved blade fastened with binding to its short solid handle. The binding that holds the blade to the handle features spiral designs on its front and back. The surface patina is deep, smooth and worn indicating a period of creation to between the 18th and 19th Century.
