19th Century Brass Gold Weight Depicting a Knot Bird. Akan Culture, Ghana

The knot bird is cast standing on a pyramid structured base. It has two what appears to be cannons balancing on either wing, this seems to be a common addition to castings depicting the knot bird traditionally a symbol of wisdom.
