This amazing early Ethiopian seat features a sweeping, elongated backrest with edges that are beautifully cut out and serrated in style. Four solid, block-like legs support the long seat of the backrest, and throughout, the piece exhibits a rich, dark surface patina -particularly on the area of the backrest, a material testament to its great age. At the rear of the backrest, visible notched chisel marks give the piece a wonderful sense of character.
