19th Century Prestige Knife. Topoke Culture, Democratic Republic of the Congo

This fine Topoke prestige knife exhibits a beautiful, sculptural form. The knife's forged iron blade is decorated with finely engraved designs, and its solid, heavy handle is bound with fine strips of copper and soft white metal.
