The stool is well proportioned with a large curved sweeping seat perched on top of the elephants back. The attractive feature of this stool is its lovely deep, worn and rich patina, particularly on the surface of the seat. Because of this, the stool seems to be a lot earlier then other examples seem on the market and was likely made and used for traditional use rather than the early colonial market.
