This fine early Bamileke mask depicts a bush cow with long sweeping horns. Throughout, this mask exhibits an old worn surface patina, showing great age and a fantastic primal presence.
This mask has been part of a private family collection in London since 1981 when it was purchased at Christie's, South Ken. Thereafter it was passed through the family by descent.
