Carved from a dense hard wood the title stool features to its front a carved in profile stylised mask with typical Chokwe features. At its rear is a handle decorated with a finely carved small face. The central cylinder shaped body of the stool has been decorated with a series of circle dots, this design feature can also be seen on the surface of the flat seat. The stool generally shows obvious signs of age reflecting a period of creation in use to the 1st half of the 20th Century, likley 1930's.
