At the base of this peg-shaped figure, remnants of a calabash indicate that a gourd was once attached with small wooden pegs. This small figure, therefore, was likely the top of a larger fetish or possibly a container.
The figure displays finely delineated facial features, and below a fetish bundle sits above the figure's stomach. Animal hair is wrapped around the remnants of the gourd, and throughout, the piece exhibits obvious signs of age and use.
