This medicine container has a carved wooden stopper featuring a female head with a prominent parted and sweeping coiffure. The figurative stopper has been carved from a hard dark wood with the neck section decorated with multiple strands of early transparent glass beads. Below the beads is a pair of breasts carved in a simple abstract form. The centre of the gourd container has been further decorated with stands of tiny glass beads. This container would have been keep as part of a collection of containers by a Kaguru traditional healer. The traditional healer can be both a male or female.
