A large and expressive Sagara mask featuring a flattened, elongated profile, short, rounded nose and open mouth fitted with inserted wooden teeth. The surface has been decorated with circle motifs, giving this mask a striking and individual character. Its bold features with inserted teeth are characteristics typically found in masks from this region of Tanzania. The back exhibits a worn patina, indicative of extended use.
