Three phallic symbols have been carved into the top of this fine wooden house post to ensure fertility and protection within the household. The post was also used as a form of partition marker to separate areas inside a traditional dwelling.
The surface of the house post exhibits a lovely deep, glossy patina as a result of extensive handling and touching over the years.
