Rarely seen among traditional medicine containers, these containers each have finely carved wooden stoppers, depicting the alert, spiralling heads of snakes.
Both feature medicine holes at the tops of the stoppers, and rather unusually, one of the snake heads has a double pair of white beaded eyes. Used together by a traditional healer, the snake imagery imbued into these medicine containers was likely associated with increased power, potency and strength during healing rituals.
