This strikingly ornate early twentieth-century Duala stool is a pure visual statement of prestige. The lower section of each side of the stool depicts a scene of two snakes, each with a bird in its mouth. The back support features a carved crocodile, and throughout, the surface of the stool has been breathtakingly decorated with beautiful cross-hatched designs and floral decorations.
