A rare collection of beautifully formed Pygmy hunting bows, each displaying elegant form and a deep, well-worn patina acquired through age and use. One bow is partially wrapped with strips of monkey fur. Owing to their relatively small size, these bows were most likely used by Pygmy hunter-gatherers in the forests of north-eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo for hunting monkeys and other small game.
