Rare Animal Hide Shoulder Cloak/Back Costume. Yei Culture, Botswana

Patches of soft animal hide -possibly bushbuck hide - have been sewn together to create this rare Yei shoulder cloak/back costume, adorned with leather tassels, strands of ostrich egg shells and old glass beads.

Two flat woven panels of black and white glass beads, beautifully arranged into geometric designs, provide further embellishment to the piece.
