The Lozi are known for carving traditional bowls in the form of animals that inhabit the shores of the Zambezi River. This piece, in the form of a wild duck, consists of two parts, the base with its carved web feet and the lid that fits neatly into the base. Sections of the surface of the bowl have been scorched giving a attractive light and dark contrast.
