This traditional medicine container features a unusual stopper carved in the form of an animal head with two pointed ears or horns. It has a long pointed snout with strands of white glass beads attached through a hole in its mouth. To empower the container a fetish hole can be found in the animals forehead and tiny glass beads decorate its eyes. The body of the gourd container is decorated with strands of old glass beads, some are translucent. The surface is oily and encrusted. Such pieces were kept by the traditional healer and used during healing rituals.
