Animal mask with a primal presence. The mask was part of the collection belonging to the Abbey Arts Centre, New Barnet, which was established by William Ohly in 1946. William Ohly was a well know dealer at the time who ran the Berkeley Galleries, London. The mask wonderfully captures the character of a bush spirit and was once decorated with a red pigments and has its original fibre costume attached.
