Animal mask with a wonderful primal presence. The mask was part of the collection of the Abbey Arts Centre, New Barnet, established by William Ohly in 1946. William Ohly was a well-known dealer at the time who ran the Berkeley Galleries in London. The mask captures the character and presence of a bush spirit. The surface was once decorated with red pigments and has its original fiber costume attached.
