This thick walled cast bronze circular container, raised on three flared supports, features a double-tiered lid, on which is depicted a female with one arm raised to her head and what appears to be bundles on her lap? The body of the container is ornamented with an interplay of various geometric designs, including spiral-shaped designs and bands of striations. Akan kuduo vessels were made to store valuable possessions and served the symbolic purpose of safeguarding their owner's kra, or life force.
