This fetish depicts an embracing couple, male and female. The male figure rests his arm on the female’s shoulder, and the female wraps her arm around the male’s back. The figures stand in a proud, powerful stance with accentuated upper shoulders. The body of each figure has been wrapped in cloth, and the female wears a necklace made from glass fragments and tiny transparent beads. A traditional restoration, in which the figures have been bound together with plastic coated wire can be seen around the upper arms. The figures also bear some resemblance to the artistic style of figurative art from Madagascar.
