Likely sand cast in a copper/bronze alloy the mother stands upright holding her baby in her arms. Around the mothers neck is displayed a crucifix from a early Christian influence and the surface of the whole figure is rough as a result of the casting process. A small part of the head of the child is missing, likely a flaw in the original casting.
