This attractive Lozi bowl has been carved in two pieces, with the body of the bowl serving as a food container. The carved depiction of a hornbill bird decorates the lid of the bowl.
Animals depicted on bowls made by the Lozi people of Zambia were species that could be found inhabiting the shores of the Zambezi River.
