Two Lozi Stools With Openwork Geometric Designs, Zambia

640

Two Stools. Lozi Culture, Zambia

It is likely that these two Lozi stools - one slightly larger in size than the other - were carved by the same hand. Both stools feature finely carved central supports with openwork geometric designs, and an angular-shaped protrusion, located on a single side of one of the stools, would have originally served as a handle.

Estimated Period: Mid-20th Century (Or Before)
