This four-pronged hair comb from the Democratic Republic of the Congo has been crafted from bone. The comb is slightly curved in form, and the top of the comb indicates where beadwork or raffia twine would have been attached. Lady Dale was a well-known London-based collector of tribal adornments; a lot of her finds were sourced along the Portobello Road from the 1970’s onwards.
